Jeanne Waxgiser is the Director and Lead Teacher at Paintbox. She has Master's Degree in Education (Curriculum and Instruction) with a specialization in literacy. She has been with Paintbox since 1999.

Paintbox Preschool is a small, welcoming school for children ages 3–5 years. We like to believe our preschool is your child's second family.
Our program is active and busy. Children learn through investigation and play experiences, with a curriculum designed to help them grow and learn in a developmentally appropriate way.

Paintbox is an arts-based preschool located in Cumberland, Rhode Island. Our preschool serves children ages 3–5 in an active environment where children learn through hands-on investigation and play.
Our curriculum supports children's growth and learning in a developmentally appropriate manner. Children have opportunities to create, explore, learn with friends, and enjoy our large playground.
We offer choices for days and hours so families can choose a preschool schedule that works for them. Please contact Paintbox for current openings and enrollment information.

Amanda Call-Fregeau
Teacher
Amanda Call-Fregeau is a lead teacher at Paintbox. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. She has been with Paintbox since 2018.
Kim Bevilaqua
Teacher
Kim Bevilaqua is a teacher at Paintbox. She holds a CDA in Early Childhood Education. She has been with Paintbox since 2009.
Rose Zawacki
Teacher
Rose Zawacki is a teacher at Paintbox. She has a Bachelor's in Education. She joined our school in 2022 as a parent and 2024 as a teacher.

Our Curriculum
Our Curriculum
At Paintbox Preschool, we offer a stimulating environment that provides each child an opportunity to achieve and learn at his or her own pace. We believe in honoring the uniqueness in every child.
Activities are age appropriate to the preschool age level. Our schedule includes a balance of free play and teacher-directed activities. We base our plans on the RI Early Learning Standards.
We welcome and celebrate diversity. We believe in teaching children to respect and accept each other.
We have a low student to teacher ratio.
Our 3 year old class has a busy, exciting day that helps them to become more confident. They will enjoy the challenges of the first school year.
Our 4 year old class will enjoy a more challenging, but fun curriculum that will prepare them for kindergarten and beyond.
We use Core Knowledge Curriculum as a foundation and add in additional activities based on our students' needs and interests. We use Handwriting Without Tears in both age groups. This is a program designed specifically for preschool age children.
