PAINTBOX SUMMER CAMP - 2017 - Preschool

Paintbox camps meet Monday – Thursday from 9:00 – 12:00. Children should bring a snack and drink, but not a lunch. Also, students should come to camp wearing sunscreen and bring a hat for protection from the sun. $100 a session. To reserve a spot, you must submit 50% of payment. Cancellations must be within a week before start of camp or NO deposit is returned. Please note there are no camps during July 3-6, due to the Independence Day Holiday.
Preschool Camp – for children ages 3 – 4 (who have not graduated preschool and who are not 5 by Sept. 1, 2017). Each camp relates to the chosen theme and includes craft activities, stories, and learning through play each day.
PW1 – 6/19-22 - Under the Sea:
Children will learn about the sea animals, sea life, and island life during this week. They will play with sand at the sand table, search for sea shells, and create their own aquarium.
PW2 - 6/26-29 - Lets get Artsy:
During this week children will learn about different art skills, types of art, and famous artists. The children will explore with various materials to create their own art work!
PW3 – 7/10-13 - Music Makers:
During this week children will learn about the different types of music. They will learn about different musical interments and what sounds they make to create music. Children will listen and dance to different music, create their own marching band using instruments they create during camp and much more!
PW4 – 7/17-20 - Down on the Farm:
During this week at camp, children will learn about farm life. They will learn about farm animals, the sounds they make, the food they eat, and how they are cared for. Children will be able to experiment and play with lots of hay!
PW5 - 7/24-27 - Lights, Camera, Action:
During this week at camp children will be engaging in activities to enhance their imagination! Learning the basics of dramatic arts, creating a theatrical production (puppet show). The children will be able to create their own puppets, and dress up in the dramatic play area! This week is all about imagination!
PW6 – 7/31-8/3 - Dino Camp:
During this week children will learn about dinosaurs, what they ate, where they lived, and much more! They will learn about the prehistoric time period. Children will be able to dig for dinosaur bones at the sand table as they become mini archaeologists.
PW7 – 8/7-10 - Numbers all Around:
During this week, children will learn all about numbers (1-10). Children will practice counting using various materials in the classroom. Students will participate in different counting games and activities.
PW8 – 8/14-17 - A Blast into Space:
During this week children will explore planets and learn about our fascinating planet Earth. We will also what is found in our solar system.

Graduate Camp - for children who are entering kindergarten (age 5 by Sept 1, 2017) and up. Groups will have mixed age levels.
GWA - 6/19-22 - Crafty Fun: Release your inner creativity and join us for an exploration of craft projects that will keep children engaged and entertained. A variety of projects will be presented and will be appropriate for both girls and boys.
GWB - 6/26-29 - Pottery Part 1:
Create your own unique items. Learn pottery hand building techniques like pinch pot, slab, and coiling. Examples of each type of pottery will be demonstrated. But, students are free to make their own creations (MUST TAKE PART TWO TO FINISH THE PIECES - GWC).
GWC - 7/10-13 - Pottery Part 2:
Finish the pottery pieces started in Pottery Part 1 - GWB - with glaze and paint techniques. The camp will conclude with an Art Gallery on Thursday.
GWD - 7/17-20 - STEAM:
STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) is a camp with amazing experiments and engaging activities.
The world needs more critical thinkers, doers, and problem solvers. This camp will encompasses all the elements of STEAM in a fun, interactive way.
GWE - 7/24-27 - Art of the Masters
Learn about world famous artists and create your own masterpieces inspired by their work. Several mediums will be explored. The camp will conclude with an Art Gallery Showing on Thursday.
GWF - 7/31-8/3 - Ultimate Survivor:
Students will participate in a variety of games and challenges. Campers will create team flags, participate in obstacle courses, scavenger hunts, and other events in this full filled week.
GWG - 8/7-10 - The Chopping Block:
This camp will encourage students to whip up new recipes while exploring the culinary world. Activities will encourage discovery and creativity, allowing campers to explore foods in a fun way.
GWH - 8/14-17 - World Explorer:
Learn about other parts of the world and their culture through hands-on activities, cooking, crafts, and dramatic play experiences.
